Gary Rooney
Rooney Group Director
Gary Rooney is the Director and 100% owner of the Rooney group of companies. Gary has a hands-on role in running various businesses.
Colin Dixon
General Manager
Colin was appointed as General Manager in February 2012 to take over some of the Group Management workload and day-to-day running of the company. Colin has a 25 year background working with civil maintenance and construction contracts and has spent the last 20 years in senior leadership roles. His skillset fits well into the existing management structure as Colin heads a team of managers building a sustainable, effective future for the business.
Andrew Rae
Rooney Consulting Manager
Formerly Ashburton manager, appointed as Rooney Consulting Manager in 2011. Andrew has 28 years experience in the earthworks and civil construction fields and specialises in Project management and Autocad pond design.
Steve Agnew
Senior Design Engineer
Steve is one of NZ’s leading Irrigation engineers and has 26 years in scheme scoping, design and implementation. Steve has been responsible for the successful design and implementation of the successful Acton Irrigation scheme and is currently heavily involved in the Rangitata South, Carew Ponds and Waimakariri Schemes.
Craig Matheson
Waimate/Oamaru Area Manager
Craig has been employed with REL Waimate since 1980 and manages approximately 20 field staff completing agricultural, forestry, council and ECan work in the district. Assisted by Gary Harvey, Craig also runs the Oamaru branch of REL mainly completing agricultural work in the district.
Andrew Ree
Ashburton Area Manager
Andrew was appointed in 2012 and has a long background in civil construction with a variety of contractors in the greater Canterbury region. The Ashburton office is primarily employed on agricultural work but also completes local council work, roading contracts, dams and river work Ashburton also runs a heavy machinery workshop with 8 staff employed on mechanical repairs, field repairs, and engineering on REL heavy and light plant.
Colin Wilson
Project Manager
Colin has been with Rooney Boring Ltd for 12 years. Colin and his team have been busy with Christchurch rebuild but also look after fibre optic duct and cable installation throughout the South Island.
